An outstanding long fluted lily flowering tulip in rich carmine red with a dash of pure yellow at the base. The lily flowering range are some of our most popular tulips due to their unique fluted petals that gracefully reflex suspended on tall, fine wiry stems, the whole effect resembling a lily. With its height of 65cm Red Shine makes a great cut flower and is striking when planted in the bed or border. Flowers mid-May. 11-12cm bulbs supplied.

Plant at approx 10cm deep.

Soil Type

Well drained garden soil

Plant bulbs in well dug soil about 8-10cm deep and approx 15cm apart. It is often beneficial to use a little bonemeal or super phosphate mixed in with the soil. Tulips delight during their growth in a sunny location.
After the tulips have bloomed and when leaves fade and turn brown the bulbs can be lifted, dried, cleaned and stored in a cool place until planting time. Tulips should not be grown in the same soil for several years, so replace with fresh soil every other year.
