Phyteuma Scheuchzeri

Phyteuma Scheuchzeri

A relative of the Campanula, this unusual ground cover perennial produces unique spiky flowers that bloom from June through to July. Their appearance is deceiving as they are actually very soft petals with rounded edges that stand atop grey-green lance shaped foliage at a height of 35cm. The flowers start as a saturated blue-purple colour and gradually fade to a pale lilac as the perennial matures. Phyteuma scheuchzeri are hardy plants and look superb when planted at the front of garden borders or patio containers to add a splash of colour. UK-grown 5cm module plants supplied.
