Plant in a hole deep enough to accommodate the roots fully

Fertile, well drained soil.

To grow loose rooted plants, it's best to pot them up to establish them before placing them in the border. On arrival, put your loose root in a bucket of water to soak. This will keep it hydrated. Pick a suitable sized pot that will hold the entire root. Cover with multi-purpose compost and water well.
Keep in a shaded area in its pot. Harden off before planting in the spring.
