Planting

Plant in a hole the same depth as the container, with room for the roots to develop/expand.

Soil Type

Moist, well-drained soil

For best results, plant your Lonicera in mid-spring, when all danger of frost has passed. Honeysuckle will happily grow all year round, but for best results it's preferred if you plant deciduous honeysuckle in winter and evergreen in autumn and spring. However, avoid planting when the ground is overly wet, like after a thunder storm or lots of rain. Prepare your walls or fences by adding wires or trellis panels and ensure that they are spaced in horizontal layers. Add supports if necessary whilst the plant is established.
