Soil Type

Use a balanced compost avoiding a type which is too peaty as it can produce a hard crust if allowed to dry which will repel water. We would recommend a John Innes Compost No.2.

Unpack immediately upon arrival and give them a little water if needed. If potting up into containers, use a balanced compost (that is not too peaty) as it is inclined to produce a hard crust if allowed to dry. We recommend a John Innes Compost No 2.
Keep well watered during the dry late spring and early summer. To over-winter your plants, lift them after flowering and store in pots and trays in a frost free place and keep dry soil around the roots. Prune hard in spring, leaving just 15-30cm of s tem.
