Originating from China this shrub produces rich purple-pink flowers on bare stems in late April-May before the leaves emerge. Large heart shaped leaves are an added attraction, leaves are vivid yellow in autumn. Ultimate height 4m, but easy to keep much smaller. Supplied in a 2 litre pot.
