Planting

Soil Type

Humus rich, well drained soil

Hibiscus like to be planted in humus rich, light but rich soil. Add plenty of peat/compost when planting, and locate in a sunny or sheltered position.
Hibiscus often take a long time to establish themselves so do not be disappointed if they take over a year to develop. Once established they will add plenty of colour to your garden when other shrubs are beginning to fade. They should always be kept well watered.
