Deepest of blue in colour. A hardy perennial from the French Pyranees. Long stems at 50-60cm and flowering May-June. Very hardy but only make appearances in May and flower soon after. Invisible but not dead untill then.

Bulbs are to be planted 8cm deep and about 10-12cm apart, in well drained soil. It is often best to try to position then with plenty of access to sun. For best results, plant in September through to November.
Take some care to prevent slugs and snails from attacking the iris once planted. Most Dutch iris are only suitable for planting in the garden or in a cool greenhouse or a cold frame.
